Parent Participation Program (Volunteers)

Our Parent Participation Program is a vital part of St. Adelaide Academy. The purpose of the Parent Participation Program is to involve parents more actively in their child’s school, while helping to keep down the increasing costs of educating children. Parents have an opportunity to sign up for various activities.
Each school family is responsible for thirty (30) hours of parent participation for the school year.
All families must complete 10 hours by the end of each trimester. If hours are not completed, the family will be charged $30 per missing hour at the end of each trimester. For example:
Family 1
Trimester 1: 10 hours completed – Family will be charged at the end of first trimester $0
Trimester 2: 10 hours completed – Family will be charged at the end of second trimester $0 Trimester 3: 10 hours completed – Family will be charged at the end of third trimester $0 Total charge for the year: $0
Family 2
Trimester 1: 5 hours completed – Family will be charged at the end of first trimester $150.00 Trimester 2: 0 hours completed – Family will be charged at the end of second trimester $300.00 Trimester 3: 10 hours completed – Family will be charged at the end of third trimester $0
Total charge for the year: $450.00
Each family is required to work 5 hours at the carnival, which is during the first trimester, as well as sign up for one event committee. Example: Monte Carlo, Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Dance, Field Day, etc.
Parents are required to sign in at the school office any time between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each time they are on campus to complete a task or activity. All service hours must be logged in on Gradelink or the binder in the school office.

Background Clearance

ALL parent volunteers who plan to volunteer in school or around students MUST have a Live Scan background clearance completed through the Diocese of San Bernardino, which is site specific to our school and program. Additionally, each parent must complete online Safe Environment Program, prior to working with students. Live Scan MUST be completed at the parents expense and be cleared prior to volunteering at school. NO EXCEPTIONS. Online courses must be renewed every three years.
Parents and relatives of students are subject to this rule. A record is maintained in the school office of those who
have completed the requirements for volunteering and are at least 18 years of age. Volunteers may not bring children (infants, toddlers, children who do not attend St. Adelaide, St Adelaide students who have already been signed out or who are sick for the day) on campus while they are volunteering.
